Soohee Lee

Founder/President
Architecture, Landscape Design, Urban Design 

Soohee Lee, founder and president of San Institute of Design and Technology (SIDT), has comprehensive academic and work experience across a full array of design and technology. Lee serves as an adjunct assistant professor in School of Architecture and Design of New York Institute Technology (NYIT) since 2019, a guest researcher invited by the landscape architecture division of the Department Urbanism at the Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) since 2024, and currently running her own practice, SAN, based in New York. since 2010. 

As an educator and architect, Lee’s persisting interest and passion has been focused on excavating innate talent and creating job opportunities. With over 20 years of career, Lee has expertise in community development and urban revitalization projects in private and public sectors. It includes serving as an urban design advisor for Nonprofits and NGOs at the UN on several projects that empower people by creating job and educational opportunities.

Lee’s entrepreneurial spirit has led her to expand beyond her professional background, and she has become an expert in building opportunities from the ground up by sharing visions and achieving goals with her counterparts.

Lee received a master’s degree in Architecture from Columbia University in New York and a master’s degree in Landscape Architecture and Urban Design from Seoul National University. Her bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Sung Kyun Kwan University in South Korea. 

Lee is a registered architect in the State of New York and Connecticut, a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP), and a member of the Association of Professional Landscape Designers (APLD). Lee is currently pursuing a certificate in Horticulture at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.
