Samantha Coughlin serves as Creative Director for SIDT programming and teaches a number of classes in visual communication and product design.
Outside of SIDT, Samantha’s work is oriented around developing and designing interactive experiences. She served as lead designer for filmmaker Steven Soderbergh’s experimental startup and partnered with HBO to develop Mosaic—a branching narrative app that was nominated for an interactive Emmy.
She has worked on a variety of digital products, ranging from screenwriting and editing software to dating apps, and her identity design work has touched the beverage, textile, hospitality, and aerospace industries.
She received her Bachelors in Fine Arts in Visual Communication Design from the University of Notre Dame, and has assisted in teaching courses in Digital Design at Colombia University.
In addition to her background in user experience design, she has extensive experience in print work and motion design and is well suited to offer instruction in a wide range of applications, including Figma, Sketch, InDesign, AfterEffects, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
